This is a change of pace from the ubiquitous cream cheese frosting. More like a glaze, the buttermilk adds a little tanginess,

Carrot Cake Frosting
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions

Boil all ingredients together for five minutes, stirring constantly.

Poke holes every inch or so in the cake with a chopstick or something similar in size.

Pour glaze evenly over the cake, letting it run down the sides.
