My brother and his family worked for many years in India and he brought this back to us when he returned. Chai Tea has been around for centuries, and is said to benefit digestion. The blend of spices that are used produces a warming and soothing effect.
Chai Tea
Ingredients
- 1 quart water
- 4 tablespoons Black Indian Tea "Red Label"
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 4 cardamom pods whole
- 1 1 " length cinnamon stick
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
- 1/2 cup sugar
Instructions

Bring the water to a boil.

Add all ingredients and boil together about 5 minutes.

Strain in a fine sieve.

Mix 1 part milk to 2 parts tea when serving.

Serve hot, as is, or cold over ice.
