Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 squares chocolate
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate in saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add sugar and milk and stir until it boils.
  3. Cook without stirring until reaches 235 degrees (forms a soft ball when dropped in water).
  4. Remove from heat, add butter and let sit in a pan of cold water until cool.
  5. Add vanilla and beat until creamy.
  6. Pour into buttered pan and mark into squares.
  7. (4 tbsp of cocoa may be substituted for the chocolate)
